“April Fools’ Day, be
careful, you can be wrong.”
In our country April Fool’s Day is called with
Latin name "Prima Aprilis". It is a day full of jokes and fun for the people
of Poland. They plan for huge hoax stories to fool the media, public
institutions and government by fooling them until the situation gets more
serious. People love to play pranks on their friends, relatives and also on
strangers. Practices include sending someone on a "fool's errand,"
looking for things that don't exist, trying to get people to believe ridiculous
things. This holiday is largely celebrated by children but also adults are
eager to have fun on that day.
Today our 6th grade students were
having their final exam. Although there are three months of learning till
summer holidays the most important day of the school year was today. And – it
was not a joke…. So, this year, Polish students celebrated April Fool’s day
after the exam, with their families and friends, not in school. But watching
their Facebook profiles you can be sure that they played pranks today.
Who’s an April Fool this year in your country?
