At the end of January we spend a wonderful
week in Mezvidi and Rezekne.
We are very grateful for inviting us to visit our
Latvian friends. What will always stay in our
minds and our hearts is Latvian hospitality
and kindness. We were able to feel like at home. We liked the snowy and frosty
weather because there was not a lot of snow in our country last years. We could
try the real taste of Latvia while eating traditional Latgalian dishes. We are thankful for the
opportunity to visit Aglona Church, which is called "Latvian
Czestochowa". It was unusual, spiritual experience, especially when we
could talk to Aglona priest in Polish and discuss religious topics. Polish team
will also never forget the visit in the Museum of
Bread and going to Russian border.
Winter activities made us extremely happy and
gave us a lot of fun. We have never tried such kind of sleigh ride! Folk
dances on a snowy hill surprised and cheered us.
We are impressed how Latvian people cooperate
with each other, and, how strong are
connections between generations. There is no generation gap!
After the visit we stayed in the capital
city of Latvia - Riga. We saw the Old Town and the famous House of Cats.
The meeting was another opportunity to see
our friends from partner countries. We miss you! We are looking forward to see
you all in Portugal in May!
